K-cup maker Keurig wants to bombard your coffee with sonic energy.
The company that brought you the revolutionary K-cups has patented a technique that uses sound to guarantee a richer coffee. The patent shows a K-cup fitted with an ultrasonic receiver that is capable of receiving ultrasound waves from an external brewer and transmit the ultrasonic waves to the interior space of the K-cup. When the K-cup is being filled with water, the presence of ultrasonic waves increase turbidity and causes greater amount of dissolved solids to pass through the filter. This results in faster and more efficient extraction giving you coffee that tastes absolutely great!
