The windshield of your car often develops cracks. The most annoying thing about a cracked windshield is that you cannot repair it so you have to replace it. A recent patent publication reveals Ford has developed a self-healing glass panel. The glass panel contains three layers of glass stacked one above another and a healing agent provided between the first layer and the second layer. When a crack develops, the healing agent moves into the crack site via capillary action and bonds the crack, thereby healing the glass panel automatically.

The windshield made out of self-healing glass might possibly eliminate the need of replacing the cracked windshield of your car and in turn, save you recurring costs required to replace it.
