Honda Patents Hugging Robots

Honda has invented robots designed to give you perfect hugs!

Patent Yogi’s expert search team discovered a recent patent from Honda where they disclose details of these robots. The robot includes hundreds of sensors on their body to detect the intensity of hugs. These sensors will generate huge data about the hugs. It is difficult to process such huge data in a short span of time.

Honda’s robots perform feature selection from the sensor measurements to reduce a dimensionality associated with the number of sensor measurements. This allows robots to process the sensor data quickly.

You can even train these robots to give you perfect hugs. The robots learn to give you hugs based on your physical characteristics such as height, contact location, and strength.
